We hosted a screening of Bicycle Dreams, the celebrated film about the Race Across America, at the Clayton Center for the Arts on Tuesday night.  The screening was sponsored by the Smoky Mountain Wheelmen, Cycology Bicycles, Mountain Challenge, and the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation.  We had a great crowd for this amazing film!

318 curves in 11 miles.  The Dragon is a stretch of US 129 from Tab Cat Creek at Chilhowee Lake in Tennessee to Deal's Gap at the Tennessee/North Carolina state line.  It is a favorite of motorcyclists and sports car drivers.  It's also an incredible bike ride.

The ride to Clingmans Dome is one of my favorites.  The climb from Sugarlands Visitor's Center in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park up Newfound Gap Road to Newfound Gap is about 13 miles.  From there, Clingmans Dome Road is a spur road to the peak of Clingmans Dome.  It adds about 7 miles for a total climb of about 20 miles.  The temp can drop 30 degrees or more from start to peak.  The views are spectacular.
