Running the Grandfather Mountain Marathon 2010
The 43rd running of the Grandfather Mountain Marathon was held July 10, 2010. It was a perfect day for a marathon with cool temps in the early morning at the race start. The marathon started in Boone, NC on the track of Appalachian State University and ended at McRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain where about 15,000 people were gathered for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. It's a great thing to be greeted by bagpipes at the end of a 26.2 mile run!
